Ho Hum

Yes!! Someone did show up yesterday to work on the pool, but since it was the plumbers no pictures were taken. I have to wait for something dramatic to happen, only then I will post the progress. Nothing new on the grandchildren front and "The Madge" leaves in about one hour, so back by popular demand another "Walk Down Memory Lane".

Are You Cured Yet??

Let's see, it's been 12 days of curing the gunite in the pool but I stopped, as per the pool companies instructions, after 7 days. I hope today someone will show up to do something, anything, or nothing, but just show up. "The Madge" leaves for Austin tomorrow morning to help her sister prepare for a big move, she is leaving Texas and relocating back to San Diego. "The Madge" should be back in Spring on Sunday, she will then spend two days here and head up to Conn. to visit Allison, Meaghan and Sean. She will be back in Texas July 26th, which is the same day Erin, Brad and Caden arrive here for a 10 day stay. So it will be just Cooper, myself and any pool workers that are hanging out here for the rest of July. Maybe I will grab a bite at Mel's now and then.

Birthdays and more

We celebrated the Fouth of July with our good friends Lyn and Bob Stefans and Kathy and Dave Calonico, we had plenty of Hotdogs, Cocktails, Hamburgers, Cocktails, Fireworks, Cocktails and finally some Cocktails. While Bob was conducting the Boston Pops playing "Stars and Stripes Forever", I discovered that the volume of the outdoor speakers could only go up so much and some neighbors three streets away could hardly hear it. Good times with Good People!! While we were having a boring time here Meaghan hosted a BBQ with some of our relatives(See Pictures). Also a HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLLEEN.

Que?

Many thanks to Bill Kenney for finding this interesting article.

Victoria, Texas is a town about 80 miles west of Houston.

Local Hispanic leaders there, in opposition to pending Immigration Legislation, boycotted all Caucasian owned businesses in the Victoria area this weekend as a demonstration of their economic impact on the community.

Business owners declared the boycott a success as well, pointing out that shoplifting was reduced by 77%.

And, shoppers reported they could actually hear English being spoken throughout the stores for the first time in recent memory...and customers paid with real money, not government cards.
