A Classy Way Of Saying "I'm Here"

While I am waiting for the gunite to cure, I thought you might be interested in Caden's Birth Announcement. I think it is very clever.

Good News Bad News

The good news is - it has rained (heavy at times) the last three days, and we sure did need it. It hasn't rained for nearly one month. Our lawn is suffering big time because the sprinkler system has been down since they ripped up the pipes during the pool dig. Did I say pool? Well that's the bad news - weather delays. The gunite was finally shot Friday and the workers threw sheets of plastic over the pool so they could continue to work. Now every comes to a halt, the gunite must cure for 5 - 7 days and we help the curing process by wetting it down 5 times a day. The way I figure it everything should be a go by Thursday, wrong, Hello 4th of July. They plan on starting up again July 7th so for the next week we get to look at the following (see last 3 pictures).

Low On Oil?

A lot of folks can't understand how we came
to have an oil shortage here in our country.
~~~
Well, there's a very simple answer.
~~~
Nobody bothered to check the oil.
~~~
We just didn't know we were getting low.
~~~
The reason for that is purely geographical.
~~~
Our OIL is located in
~~~
ALASKA
~~~
California
~~~
Coastal Florida
~~~
Coastal Louisiana
~~~
Kansas
~~~
Oklahoma
~~~
Pennsylvania
and
Texas
~~~
Our
DIPSTICKS
are located in
Washington, DC !!!
Any Questions ???
NO? I didn't Think So.
Ya Gotta Crawl Before Ya Walk
The big news on the CT front is Sean has started to crawl. It won't be long now before all the breakables are moved to higher places and the TV/Audio equipment are constantly being adjusted by Sean. According to my Mother I didn't crawl but just started walking, of course I was 11 years old when this happened. Way to go Sean. Here's a few photos I just received from Meaghan and here's a little advice Meg, Don't Try To Hide Your Freckles".
It Won't Be Long Now
Things are again happening at our house, the pool company showed up yesterday and started the pool. They got here at seven in the morning and by noon I had been chased away twice. "Way Too Much Time" on my hands. If they had only listened to me they wouldn't have had to RE-DO some things this morning. They also didn't appreciate my spanish which was "Cuando soy en su país diré el español y cuando usted está en el mío usted dirá el inglés". This lesson one in "How to win friends in Texas". Lesson two don't have a sign on your fence stating "Retired INS officer". Pictures of the progress will be posted later this week. Gotta go and pester the guys who are feeding our trees.
Little Man Visits Spring
The little man drove down from Frisco with Mommy, Daddy and Riley (dog) to visit with Mimi and Pops. When Mom and Dad went out on the town for a few hours he decided to NOT sleep and proudly show Mimi and Pops how strong his vocal chords are. Here are some recent pictures of Caden.
Is it just me? ....
Is it just me? ....
... As you watch the flooding in the Midwest, have you noticed that there are no farmers running around with stolen plasma TVs or holding stolen liquor over their heads. There's no looting or yelling "Where's Bush?",
"Where's FEMA?, Where's my check?", or "Why isn't the Gov't out here saving me and my farm?"
Likewise, I've also noticed there are no reports of any other country coming to help or sending aid.
Shocking contrast isn't it???!!!!
This was received from my sister Pat and what is ironic is we were just saying this same thing the other day. If Houston were to open up her doors to these people as it did for Katrina victims, I wonder how many, if any, would accept. For the non Texans - the Katrina people are still here, eating well and living large, on tax payers tab.
I Now Pronounce You ......
This is from friend & neighbor John Crabb who is somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico drilling for Oil/Gas.
Mmmm, tastes good.
This is from a good friend of mine (Rick) who lives up in Kansas City, he is an ex oil trader.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
OPEC sells oil for $136.00 a barrel.
OPEC nations buy U.S. grain at $7.00 a bushel.
Solution: Sell grain for $136.00 a bushel.
Can't buy it? Tough! Eat your oil!
Ought to go well with a nice thick grilled filet of camel ass!!!
The Do's and Don'ts
A recent situation arose when Sean ran a temperature of 103, Meaghan gave him a cool bath to bring the fever down while Erin said she read that "Babies run high temperatures and you shouldn't worry unless they have a reading of 107" HUH???? Erin burn that book!! For both of my girls, here's a little list of the correct way to do certain things, please pay attention. Click on this to enlarge, then print it and hang it on the fridge.
Happy Father's Day and Graduation
As all our children either live too far or in Las Vegas this year, we drove down to Sugarland to spend Father's Day with our good friends Lyn and Bob. Here's a shot of The Madge and Lyn with one of their children Nelly.
Upon our return home we received pictures of The Madge's niece and nephew's eight grade graduation. The first picture was their first day of first grade and the other two are from their graduation. Congrats Julien and Morgan.
Down Memory Lane
Every so often I think it would be interesting to show some old pictures of both family and friends. Click on pictures to enlarge them and if you didn't make this posting keep watching as your turn will come. Will post some more pictures of the grandchildren tomorrow.
