Another One Bites The Dust

While the Irish and the want to be Irish were marching down Fifth Ave preparing themselves for a day of drinking 26 miles north of St. Patrick's Cathedral another event was taking place.

The last of the Murphy girls was getting married. She is now known as Allison Murphy Davis. She and Henry had secretly planned this event for months now, however Allison DID spill the beans to her three sisters. They were married yesterday afternoon by a Justice of the Peace in Tarrytown NY. She tried to tell us on March 17th but every time she called one of us was missing, the last thing she said to me on Thursday was "Henry's taking me out to dinner and I will call when we get home". It turns out that sneaky Henry had made arrangements for Colleen and Meaghan to meet them at one of our favorite restaurants (Pinocchio Ristorante) in East Chester NY. Finally on Friday she managed to get both "The Madge" and myself on the phone to tell us this exciting news. Today they will break the news to Henry's parents. I wish to offer you a traditional Irish toast "Go raibh tú daibhir i mí-áidh Agus saibhir i mbeannachtaí, Go mall ag déanamh namhaid, go luath a déanamh carad, Ach saibhir nó daibhir, go mall nó go luath, Nach raibh ach áthas agat Ón lá seo amach." ---- May you be poor in misfortune, Rich in blessings, Slow to make enemies, quick to make friends, But rich or poor, quick or slow, May you know nothing but happiness From this day forward.
