Better Late Than Never

After my barb at Meaghan about sending pictures, she surprised me and now it's entirely my fault that Seans pictures were not promptly posted. Sorry Meg.

Obviously Halloween, at least I hope it is.
The Madge was up in the Northeast for a couple of weeks and had a good time seeing both family and friends and enjoyed spending time with Sean.

Opening day of deer season marks the start of the holidays and my neighbor started off with a bang (haha), CJ (Cowboy John) bagged two bucks the first weekend. Besides enjoying the great outdoors, basking in the complete silence of pre-sunrise, savoring meals cooked over a campfire, and killing anything that moved, he made $100. It seems there is a $50 bounty on Coyote, so the next time John goes out he will not only have deer on his mind but making a few extra dollars. Warning - - if you own a dog, any color, any breed, between 1 and 200 pounds, with or without a collar, living between Spring, TX and Llano, TX, please keep the dog inside. This warning is in effect until further notice.
Fall is just around the corner, this morning is was 39 degrees and I found about twenty leaves on the ground. Ha, eat your heart out Colleen and Mark, they have spent the last three weekends raking the leaves on their property and after piling them up in the street in front of their house they had to pay their town $50 to remove them.
We had a couple of surprise guests visit us this past weekend. Debbie and Richard Huckins stopped by on their way back to San Antonio from Magnolia TX. Spent a few hours reminiscing and discussing plans to try and get together for a cruise.
I know things are bad in the Alamo city traffic wise but I don't think it was necessary for Richard to buy this for his commute.
The other surprise visitor was Mike Kennedy from Virginia. Mike is a pilot with Metropolitan Aviation out of Manassas, VA. We haven't seen him in about four years and we are hoping that the next time we see him won't take as long.
The plans for next week are for Caden to drive his parents and dog down to our house to spend Thanksgiving with his Grandparents. I am sure there will be many pictures to post.

Off She Goes, Into The Wild Blue Yonder

"The Madge" leaves in a couple of hours on her "every sixty day" trip to the Northeast. I just checked on their weather and there is a chance of snow tonight and the temp will be in the 20's Friday night. Enough said.
People at The Whitby Castle at the Rye Golf Club witnessed an historical event last night. Henry proposed to Allison, and yes, he actually got down on one knee and asked "Will you marry me?". As to the when and where, they are still undecided. I am all for them going to one of my favorite towns, Saint Paul de Vence or maybe going over to Oughterard, Ireland and have their wedding in her Grandparents town. Wait a minute, it's on my tab. Hey what about the Elvis Chapel in Vegas???

Henry, welcome to our family.

Happy Birthday & Halloween

As mentioned in the prior post, "The Madge", Cooper and myself drove up to Frisco, Texas to celebrate Erin's birthday and Halloween. Every year Brad & Erin have bet on the outcome of the Texas Tech / Texas A&M football game. The loser prepares dinner and over the last few years Brad has been doing a lot of cooking. Well this year, even though Tech was a 21 point favorite, the Gaggies slaughtered them. Clever Brad really wanted to put salt in the wounds, so he wrapped her gifts in the sports section that recapped the game and bought the following birthday cake.

As everyone knows, grandparents love to spoil the grandchildren and we are no exception. If Caden looks at a toy for more than five seconds either The Madge or myself throw it into the shopping cart, this also holds true for a gift that "might" be good for him. Even though he is considered a little young for some of gifts, like a gas powered car or chemistry set, both Dad and Pops (me) make sure that we can use it until Caden grows into it. So here is the little guy with enough toys to open up his own Toys R Us and what do you think he wants to play with.
Yes, that's a smile on Coopers face.
The following are various pictures of the visit plus a few of Allison and Henry all dressed up ??? for Halloween. Allison's birthday is this Wednesday so I will be posting another update then. Still waiting on Meaghan to send some pictures of Sean, maybe I will get some around Christmas.
