Halt or I'll Shoot

Interesting title? Stay tuned. Sorry for the posting delay, however since little Caden went back to Frisco he was kind enough to leave us something. As previously advised the little guy had a viral infection and guess what? He left some of it with us. "The Madge" was down for about three days and just when she was getting better, I was hit with it. Today is the first day we both feel about 95% healthy, at our age I guess we never will be 100%. Now to the title explanation. About two weeks ago "The Madge" took my car for it's annual inspection, she also decided to have it's oil changed and get a free car wash. They finished with the inspection, and the oil change, she paid and went over to where the cars will come out of the wash. She waited and waited and then decided to go around to the entrance, the car was there with the hood up and the attendants were jumping the battery. They told her that since the car is four years old it probably needed a new battery and didn't want to take a chance and put it in the car wash , so she jumped into the car and drove it home, I then went to Sears and got a new battery. OK, no problem mission accomplished and everything works fine. Today a Sheriff came over to our house looking for "THE MADGE", it seems she bolted from the car wash without ever paying for the oil change. She told the Sheriff the whole story and he let her go back to the Inspection/Oil Change/Car Wash place, and settle up. I have always thought that it would be ME that the police would come for. Do I dare ask her about the car wash credit?
While scanning through today's paper I came across the following ad. Wonder how much the caucasian model is?
Meaghan once again found her camera and sent the following Easter pictures of Sean.

Post Easter - It's TOO Quiet

It's the day after Easter, Caden packed up his car this morning and drove his Mother and Dog back to Frisco, leaving his grandparents to an quiet and empty house. No more "Wheels of the bus go round and round" and "Itsy Bitsy Spider", no more smelly diapers and no more drooling from a cutting a tooth mouth. I think he had a good time as he never complained about a thing, at least not to me. I know he wasn't 100% happy during his visit as his second upper tooth was trying to break through the gum, but even with all the pain he managed to smile most of the time. Below are a few more pictures and our plans are to visit him in Frisco, TX at the end of this month so many more pictures to follow. As a matter of fact ALL the Murphy girls and our other grandson Sean will be in Frisco. Brad and his father will be playing golf in Hawaii, so no guys, except me. Someone has to pay for breakfasts, lunches and dinners. **** NEWS FLASH **** Erin just called on the way back from the Pediatrician, it seems that Caden had and still has a viral infection, here we were blaming everthing on the NEW TOOTH. Oh yeah the doctor also said "New Tooth?", "He's cutting five of them". Even with all that was going on the little guy he still managed to be happy most of the time.

The day before Easter Will Carter came over and brought his parents (Jill and Jason) and grandparents (Kathy and Dave) along to see Caden.

Easter day and Caden is showing off his new outfit with MATCHING shoes. Later on Aunt Colleen, Uncle Mark, Lyn, Bob, Kathy and Dave took turns playing with Caden and when they were waiting their turn they were sipping Pops' Booze. Great weather and great people.
Having a little breakfast and hanging out with Cooper before heading home.

Pre Easter

While we are hearing that some of our friends are experiencing cold, nasty, wet weather I am sorry to report that for the last two weeks it has been fantastic. Low 70's during the day with cloudless skies and the evenings are a bit chilly in the 40's. No complaints here, sorry... Caden has been very busy since his arrival, he's taken us to dinner a few times, cooked out last night with Greg and Laura Davis, invited the Kennedy's over today and visited with Kathy Calonico on Monday. His only complaint is that he is cutting a second upper front tooth and it's bothering him. I bet he has actually cried for a few minutes since his arrival last Friday. Here's a few pictures of his visit so far.

I See The Light

We are sitting here waiting for the arrival of Caden and his parents plus their Dog Riley aka Marley. The camera batteries are charged and I'm ready to take a ton op pictures. This morning while listening to the news, the light bulb issue came up again. Light bulb issue? What light bulb issue? About one year ago congress passed a law outlawing the use if incandescent bulbs, actually the phase-out of incandescent light is to begin with the 100-watt bulb in 2012 and end in 2014 with the 40-watt. The light bulb as we know it will be replaced wit the CFL. This is not a big deal or is it?

Here are U.S. EPA’s guidelines for cleaning up a broken CFL(compact florescent light):

  1. Open a window and leave the room (restrict access) for at least 15 minutes. If you have fans, place the fans in the windows and blow the air out of the room. Note: If the room has no windows, open all doors to the room and windows outside the room and use fans to move the air out of the room and to the open windows.
  2. Remove all materials you can without using a vacuum cleaner.
    • Wear disposable rubber gloves, if available (do not use your bare hands).
    • Carefully scoop up the fragments and powder with stiff paper or cardboard.
    • Wipe the area clean with a damp paper towel or disposable wet wipe.
    • Sticky tape (such as duct tape) can be used to pick up small pieces and powder.
  3. Place all cleanup materials in a plastic bag and seal it, and then place in a second sealed plastic bag.
    • If no other disposal or recycling options are available, private residents may dispose of the CFL in residential garbage. Be sure to seal the CFL in two plastic bags and put into the outside trash.
    • Wash your hands after disposing of the bags.
  4. The first time you vacuum the area where the bulb was broken, remove the vacuum bag once done cleaning the area (or empty and wipe the canister) and put the bag and/or vacuum debris, as well as the cleaning materials, in two sealed plastic bags in the outdoor trash or protected outdoor location for normal disposal.
This is great, Congress at it's best and while we are at it I also heard that the lack of sunspot activity is down again and earth over the last two years has actually been cooling off. Hey Gore you hear that. No global warming, we're cooling off.
